Neat, clean and accurate

  • Neat.

    The finish

Edges, joints and surface get proper care, because they’re what you’ll look at every day.

  • Clean.

    The site

We keep the job tidy while we work and clean up before we go.

  • Accurate.

    The site prep

Levels and set-out get checked before any concrete arrives. Get them right and everything built on top goes easier.

Fresh concrete falling from a chute as a screed levels the wet surface, with steel reinforcing behind.

How a slab comes together

Four stages, from bare ground to a finished slab. It all starts from a level line.

String lineGroundPrepared baseFormworkSteelConcreteFinished slab
  1. Close view of a metric tape measure pulled out on a flat surface.

Step 1: Site visit and quote

We look at the site, the access and your plans, then give you a free quote that covers the job in front of us.

  2. Worker in a hi-vis vest and hard hat walking across a large mat of steel reinforcing, seen from above.

Step 2: Excavation, formwork and steel

The pad is dug and levelled and the base prepared. Formwork goes up to the string line and the steel goes in to the drawings.

  3. Ride-on power trowel working across a large slab of fresh concrete, seen from above.

    Step 3: Pour and finish

Concrete is placed, screeded level and finished. Timing matters on the day, so we plan the crew and the concrete around the conditions.

  4. Finished concrete apron with a straight control joint running up to a white garage door.

    Step 4: Cure and handover

The slab cures, the formwork comes off and we clean up. We’ll let you know when it’s ready for the next stage.
